Ridge-Guard® is a system for guarding against animal entry at the roof ridge.  With the advent of ridge-vents to protect shingles from over heating in the summer, and excess moisture build up in the attic in the winter due to heat loss, came the extra issues associated with a large vent opening across the entire ridge of the home.

No more!

Standard plastic ridge-venting, as well as most other types of roof ridge vents, can be made secure from pests by the application of Ridge-Guard®.

Ridge-Guard is sold and shipped in heavy duty protective tubes that includes 160 linear feet of Ridge-Guard (21 - 91.5"' sections) and 200 (1 1/2" long) screws for attaching.

Total cost per tube (160') is $500.00 delivered.  FREE SHIPPING is standard ground FedEx to the lower 48 states.

Ridge-Guard® roof ridge pest control solution for all ridge-vented roofs.

#1) The importance of roof ridge ventilation:

Roof ridge ventilation is a necessity whenever a roof has asphalt shingling.  Without proper ventilation, asphalt shingles will be compromised prematurely due to excessive attic temperatures.  The shingles will warp and cause potential leaks and animal entrance points.

#2) The problem with plastic ridge-venting and other styles:

The plastic version of ridge venting starts warping and cracking with age.  Most of the other fiber style ridge vents are easy for critters such as squirrels and mice to chew or tear out allowing easy access for bats and birds to enter the attic as well.  Once in the attic many problems associated with feces, mites, and even the HVAC system of the home may occur.

#3) The old way to “fix” the problem:

Tearing of the ridge cap, removing the ridge vent, installing metal mesh, then installing new ridge vent and ridge cap.  And the problem could very well happen again with squirrels chewing holes, bats, mice or birds getting back under.

#4) The benefits of Ridge-Guard®:

  • A lot less time in labor and materials (opposed to tearing off existing ridge and reinstalling)
  • Don’t need to have extensive construction skills to install, if you are not afraid of ladders, and can run a screw gun you can install RIDGE-GUARD®
  • For most roofs about 50% saving, and a product to last as long as your roof.
  • Highly effective and barely visible from the ground.

Excellent product to pest-proof ridge vent

Ridge-guard was not difficult to install and it should perform quite well at preventing pests from entering through the vulnerable ridge vent. Our roof has thick dimensional shingles, which is not ideal, as it can leave gaps at the top of the Ridge-guard strips. We are pounding down the gaps with blocks of wood at the edge of each shingle to reduce the gap space - a bit laborious. The product is pricey, but it will be worth it if it keeps pests out. Face-screwing the strips into the shingles is a concern for possible leakage, but the provided screws are "self-sealing" and the manufacturer has not reported issues with leakage. To be on the safe side, we used a dab of roof caulk/sealant at each screw. ATS was great to deal with and they were running a shipping sale at the time. Received our package in just a few days. - Anonymous

Ridge Guard

Ridge guard goes on really easy and seems to protect well. I'm using it in AZ to cover failing edges on ridge vent due to hail damage and sun/heat damage. Good product and ATS is a good company to work with. - Jeff

Ridge Guard/Animal Traps and Supplies

We are very pleased with the product. It is quality material. My husband installed and found it to be very easy. He does have a recommendation to include installation instructions with the product. The product was delivered within 2 days of ordering for a very reasonable shipping charge. Overall we are very happy with the Ridge Guard product and Animal Traps and Supplies. - Alberta

premium product

I've tried other brands, but find Ridge Guard to be the best by far. Gaps are closed easily by using a rubber mallet. Ends are a breeze. Cuts install time in half. - Anonymous

Ridgeguard

After getting a profesional opinion that we had Bat(s) in our soffits/attic, I called ATS after hours on a Saturday hoping to leave a message for a callback. Instead, my call was actually answered by a real person, who took my order for 160 ft of Ridgeline and immediately sent me email confirmation. The product arrived in Tuesday and I had it installed myself in 2 hours. Only challenging part was customizing (cutting and bending) for the ends of the ridge. Some simply caulk the ends. I chose to cover the ends with the Ridgequard screen. My bat pro came back the next day, installed two extruders and two weeks later I have no bats. Super high quality product. Simple screw down installation. ATS price of $500 included free delivery. As a side note: my bat pros quote was $1700 for the product installed. I saved $1200 and installed it myself in two hours. - H. Johnson
