KRITTER CAPS®

         Kritter Caps® are the perfect fit to install in Vinyl-Sided Corner Caps where rodents, bats, insects, and other pests like to travel. They basically snap into place so no tools are necessary.  They are self-secured (dab of silicone caulk optional) and are completely hidden once installed.  

They are translucent in color.  Orange shown for display purposes only.  Stop stuffing with copper mesh and foam, start using Kritter Caps for a professionally finished appearance.

These simple-to-use plastic inserts will help prevent:

• Mice and other rodents crawling up the corner caps and potentially accessing the attic space.
• Infestation of Bees, Wasps, and other stinging insects.
• Dogs destroying corner caps while chasing after rodents.
• Cold weather drafts that drive up heating costs.

Kritter Caps® feature a 4 in 1 design that allows them to be installed in the standard sizes of vinyl corner posts from 2-3/4” to 4”. They can be easily sized to fit your application by cutting or breaking off the tabs with side cutters or pliers. No other tools, screws, or glue required.

Remove all pests before you begin if possible. You may need to trap and remove any remaining pests after installation. 

How to install Kritter Caps®

Measure the corner post and check for gaps

Measure the outside of the corner post to determine which tabs to remove. Kritter Caps® come ready to use on 4” corners and will not need to be modified. 

Use a small mirror or a camera to inspect the corner post opening. Look for gaps where the sheathing fails to overlap properly. This is where the Filler Tabs can be left on to fill the gaps. In the next step, remove any tabs that are in the way of installation. If you’re unsure, you can test fit and check with the mirror or camera as you go. Be careful not to remove more tabs than necessary.

• For 4” corners, use the whole Kritter Cap®.

• For 3 1/2” corners, remove the Green tabs.

• For 3” corners, remove the Green and Yellow tabs.

• For 2 3/4” corners, remove the Green, Yellow, and Red tabs.

Use side cutters or pliers to remove the tabs. If using pliers to bend the tabs, be careful not to break off more than intended. Hold the Kritter Cap® up to the corner post opening to check which Filler Tabs will remain attached in order to fill any gaps.

CAUTION - Tabs can leave sharp edges.

PROPERLY DISCARD ALL PIECES REMOVED FOR INSTALLATION.

CHOKING HAZARD - Do not leave small pieces within reach of children and pets.

Install the Kritter Cap®

Begin by sliding one side of the Kritter Cap® into the corner post opening.

Slide the Kritter Cap® into the corner post, working from side to side to keep it straight.

Push the Kritter Cap® up 4” to 6” inside the corner post.

This will allow the vinyl siding to grip it tightly during expansion and contraction caused by temperature changes.

Use the included mirror or a camera to check that the gaps are filled. Your corner post is no longer a point of entry for pests. It’s that easy!
